I hear you and feel you. I can't count how many times these very thoughts have circulated around my own head. So much I want to write down, but never the time as I try and jump through the next hoops and tend to those around me.

I won't try to respond too much, because you've already touched on a lot anyway and I could end up writing an essay, but the country I'm currently living in is Australia, so make of that what you will. I think we've had plenty of coverage lately.
