The Empire State building was the tallest building since its construction (1930) until 1970. Its total height is 443 meters, currently it is the 54th tallest building in the world. This building is really massive, and the photo that I show was taken at the street level, just in front of the building. Since the structure is getting thinner as its heigh increases (this was the construction regulations in Manhattan at the time when it was built), we do not see in the image the higher parts of the building and the spire/antenna that it is located at the top.
Personally I do not like this building, I consider it looks a bit “sinister”.
El edifico del “Empire State” fue el edificio más alto del mundo desde su construcción en 1930 hasta 1970. Su altura total es de 443 metros y actualmente está ubicado en la posición número 54 entre los edificios más altos de mundo. Su estructura es realmente masiva lo que le da una apariencia bastante pesada. Personalmente no me agrada mucho este edición ya que luce un poco “siniestro”.
La foto que publico fue tomada desde el nivel de la calle justo enfrente del edificio. Debido a que la edificación se hace más estrecha a medida que aumenta su altura (esa era la normativa vigente en Manhattan al momento de su construcción), no se observa en la imagen las partes superiores del edificio ni la antena en el que termina la edificación.
