Every generation has their coming of age bands & albums. For me there was no other than The Cult & their album "Love". Skating, dating & pontificating, the world was ours!
It was a brilliant concept album, as most of the epic 80's albums were. Love created an atmosphere of Native Americans & the American South-West that was palpable. If you didn't know they were from the UK you would be mistaken to think that they were Native Americans, as we did when we were kids. That's how damn good this album was.
First up is a discoesque, New Wave banger Nirvana. When the music is loud, we all get down!
Taking it down to the sweat lodge for some deep introspection as the winds pick up and the rain clouds descend.
The Cult - Brother Wolf, Sister Moon
I see a hollow man, gun in hand, it points my way. Genius.
The bonus track. I have thought many times this would make a great sci-fi story. Perhaps I should write it?
This is another example of why the 80's were such an incredible era. This album was an absolute masterpiece. An example of when musicians broke from the formulated, executive produced pop and produced some of the most memorable music ever recorded.
Sail on to the eternal reward.....
Thanks to for introducing me to #TTT and
for dreaming it up.
