Solvang
Solvang is a cute Danish inspired town, with Danish architecture, food, flowers, windmills and clothing. It was adorable. Solvang is a Danish word which means Sunny Meadow. A tourist attraction since 1945 with a population of 5450 in the 2010 census.
The Danish flag was flying proudly in front of hotels and stores.
Our first shopping mall was called Denmark Square.
There also was a hotel named after the Danish King.
Plus shopping markets with Danish Names
And enjoyable architecture
Obligatory Windmills…
Tall Clock towers…
And tall clocks Ha Ha..
Plus a museum dedicated to the most Famous Danish person in Danish history, storyteller Hans Christian Andersen.
There many examples of traditional Danish Architecture.
Plus beautiful flowers
Traditional Danish Artwork
Plus a very traditional Danish restaurant
It had unique medieval decorations and lovely stained glass.
A lovely watch shop with lovely beer mugs
And of course we had a Danish Breakfast, of Danish Pancakes, at Paula’s Pancake House!
Our food was delicious
Danish pancaked covered with cooked apples and cinnamon spiced whipped cream. The Danish sausage with a flavor like specked liver sausage, was delightful. The omelette was great with cheese and sausage.
Solvang was lovely, and I recommend it.
