I am on this platform since last three years, when it was just steemit. I have witnessed the transformation from steemit to hive and now the tribes. I am a freelance blogger and i decided to invest some time in POB because of the simple economics.
Curator's Calculation
I made simple calculations and figured out that at current price for 200 POB the vote value is close to 1.4 POB. Considering 50% share for curators on #pob vote with 200 POB fetches 0.7 POB. This also means when a curator gives 300 upvotes of 100% voting power, he achieves break-even.
Day for Break-Even
Considering approximately 20 upvotes, one achieves break even in just 15 days. It would be little bit more as every vote will not carry same weight.
Compounding effect
To give some exercise to your brain, which is the real objective of this tribe, i felt there is a need to crunch more numbers. When you give the upvotes, you get the curation rewards after 7 days. Which means after 140 upvotes, technically your voting power starts increasing. This compounding helps in reducing your break-even period.
My Expectation
Here, i have a simple expectation. The community needs to ensure that the token prices don't fall because if they fall, the break-even period would start increasing. This would result in changing all the tokenomics.
