Warm greetings all! š š
I haven't entered the #POBPhotocontest in a while, so I wanted to jump back in today with my entry for POBPhotoContest: Red. My chosen subject are the bright red seed pods of a small anatto/achiote shrub - Bixa orellana, that is growing right outside the front door of the main house where I've been staying temporarily in Nanawale. Most of these photos were talked yesterday, Monday October 3rd, but one was taken the day before, on Sunday, October 2nd.
When the seed pods are mostly mature, they are an intense, bright red color, which darkens to brown once fully ripe, and then each seed pod splits down the middle to reveal its seeds that are covered in a bright orange paste. This sticky, oily orange paste is the source of the anatto that you see as an coloring ingredient in various foods. I hope y'all enjoy!

Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! ššš
