Yes, you need money for Christmas and all but some people don't even know where the next meal is coming from.
Merry Christmas in advance hivians, today taught me to be contented with whatever i have and to give thanks always to God for daily blessings.
I was called upon to join an outreach for Christmas and to preach the gospel of Christ, this was as far back as November...we had been planning the outreach since December,we got all food items, had them arranged in portable polythene bags and waited for this day to come.
We had previously been to the village to ask for permission from the village heads and they were more than happy to have us.
Yesterday we arrived the village in a bus filled with the ready packages, the children were thrilled to see the bus drive in and when we alighted and introduced ourselves and what we had come to do,they were happy we eventually came(turns out some groups never come back)
We gave them gifts like noodles, spaghetti, palm oil, groundnut oil, drinks, biscuits, spices, raw rice, raw beans etc...the polythene bags were heavy(just to show you how excited they were)
The cooperation from the village head was massive, the adults, the children they were all delighted.....after we distributed the gift,we gave room for a pastor in the team to share the gospel with them and there was a massive turnout.
It taught me to give thanks rather than complain because it made me realize that the situation you're in is someone else's prayer point.
Now don't get me wrong it is not God to be complacent and refuse to hustle and all but we must never complain but rather give thanks to God......When we spoke we them we discovered that some of them couldn't even eat 3 square meals a day....even before they can get anything to eat, they would have to toil all day to provide, not only for themselves for their families as well.
Instead of complaining, keeping grudges and being bitter against successful people, why not thank God for your present state......it also taught me not waste food at all.
These people don't even have the capacity to waste food because it is never enough, that's how hard it is out there....this has taught me to e grateful for food and not to waste it.
After the sermon and we were about to take our leave, they thanked us and prayed for us..you could tell it was from their heart.
Now here's the challenge, this Christmas make sure you impact one life, give to family, friends and even strangers.... Christmas is about giving because it was the season of the birth of Jesus when God gave up his son for the world.
We should also continue in that light and give to people who are in need of it...
Thank you for stopping by
