I started my sports blog Wolfgang Sport in 2017 as a way to connect my passion for American and British sports. My exposure and outreach continues to grow and I want to share and help others who are on their own blogging journeys.
My friend from the Sports Talk tribe recently asked me how he could boost followers Inspiration for All Bloggers Out There | A Guide to Successful Blogging #1. The vibe of the post was all about CONSISTENCY and this rings true still.
My below stats for wolfgangsport.com was all about consistency and patience. Regularly posting content helped increase this but the main factor was quality control, improving my craft and always being innovative.
| Year | Traffic | Traffic vs. PY | % Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2019 | 10k | - | - |
| 2020 | 90k | +80k | +800% |
| 2021 | 216k | +126k | +140% |
You don't need to be an expert, you just need to keep improving. One example of me always looking to improve my craft is in my two videos below. One I did almost a year ago which I posted on d.tube.
I recently discovered 3speak and in that year, I've changed my tone and added a quicker pace to make my videos a bit more user engaging and friendlier to hear. I always appreciate his feedback and he was pleased with the video.
and
used the words 'punchy' and I have to admit it made me very happy. Yes it's been almost a year since I was doing videos as I've been sticking mostly to writing.
I'm also pleased that I've discovered 3speak and it's one of my aims to remain innovative over the next few months to continue delivering videos.
So in summmary, I've found I've been able to increase followers organically with the below methods:
- Consistency
- Patience
- Quality control
- Improve your craft
- Innovate
The above happens naturally though as I enjoyed my sports blog. Let me leave you with one thing I'd like all those who are looking to boost followers to think about. What is better, 20,000 non-engaged followers, or 200 followers that are actively engaged?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
