So today, I had an appointment with the hairdresser. It was supposed to be a quick one, I go by 8am and return before 1pm. I woke up and prepared. I got to the salon on time.

Since I had booked the appointment a few days earlier, the hairdresser had already cut the attachment and was ready to do magic on my hair. My hair type needs a lot of expertise and patience. They call it the 'elastic hair type'. It's really hard to comb and so I didn't even bother. I told her that I didn't comb it and that I only washed it.
The procedure started. Of course, I wasn't allowed to use my phone so that I could bend my head anyhow they wanted. The hair making was going smoothly until the attachment was almost finished and the hair remaining was still much. Well I had no other option than to use another lack of attachment. To top it all up, the hair she was making was very different from what I showed her.

We kept going, and we were done. Voila what you ordered versus what you received. I wasn't that hurt because, whatever hair she made, it always came out very beautiful (a mistake or not). It was time for the trimming to remove the spikes and excesses remaining. She told her apprentice's to do that and they did. They did what they could do. It wasn't to standard and as such, it had to be salvaged. I checked time, 4:50pm, ehnn! As how? Since when!. I couldn't even scream.
The whole salvaging process was very scary. She lit fire and brought it to my hair. I've seen a lot of shot clips whereby the hairdresser misses a turn and boom! hair on fire. I didn't want that to happen and so I sat very still, log of wood mode activated.

We finished that part and I heaved a sigh of relief, onto the next one. Detangling with hot water. The hair was already painful and she was turning it without care. A guy passed by and said that 'women were properly punished by God in terms of hair making and that if it were a guy, he would have had his haircut a long time ago'. I had to dispute that fact, we weren't punished.
After everything, I was just looking straight ahead, I didn't want to turn. It was them that I realized 'uyai mbiak'(beauty is pain) that my mom always said was very true. I finished up and it was time to head home, I checked the time, 5:15pm, ahaa. I survived! I didn't die! I literally spent ten hours just sitting in one place. How uncomfortable but good thing is that I emerged victorious and beautiful.
