Yesterday was the Rockford Park Ice Cream Festival. There was absolutely nothing fancy about it this year; there was a flea market, a stage for music, beer tent, and ice cream trucks. It was scaled back from previous years which also included food trucks and tours of the old mansion.
But, y'know... ice cream.
And a flea market.
I like outdoor flea markets because of the old-time market feel they have. The items for sale may or may not be interesting, but the people are, and it gives me a good opportunity to use one of my crappy cameras.
We got there early in the morning when the crowds were still thin. Frankly, it was raining, which probably also helped to keep the crowds away.
There was not much to be had this year. I think we browsed and got to the ice cream in about 30 minutes; it was pretty quick. My crappy camera does not have a view sensor to speak of, so I'm usually point and clicking and hoping. The sensor is only something like 1.8 megapixels, but it manages to take a picture which, I think, edits into sepia quite beautifully. I was looking for an 'old time market' feel, and I believe that is exactly what I got.
Yep, here's the beer tent.
I use Luminar 4 for my photo editing and there are some pre-defined "Looks" that edit straight into sepia and other similar photo types. It does a pretty bang up job with these. There are always a number of ways to edit photos, but this works well for my lazy self.
Of course, we went to an ice cream festival, and the boy got water ice instead. Go figure.
