Good day everyone! If you did not know already - and I have written a whole book on Hive!
We did a Chain-Writing Project where we took turns to add to the story until we had a whole story! From here the plan is to edit the story extensively and remaster it as needed and then probably just self-publish it on KDP or something. Unless someone else has a better idea?
Lex and I have been sharing the rewards for posts. We did so because we both lift equally heavy on this project and sometimes only one of us would get curated while the other one might not have!
What I would like to do in the below post is document how much money was made doing it the way we have here! Below is an approximate of the figures with the current USD payout written next to them:
Exciting! Nearly $800 earned in time and attention on Hive.
$400 would have gone to Lex and I, the authors. Thus we made around $200 each in the duration of this project! About R3500 to R3600 in local currency each!
This is just a base guess. We can also give a round estimate of $7.87 per post on average over 101 posts with half that going to the authors (split between the two of us!).
If we then look at 52 weeks in a year and posting twice a week we COULD hypothetically be looking at around $818.48 per year. $409.24 for the writers. Thus averaging around $34 a month.
If that is for the authors split 50/50 it is $17 each. Around R306pm. It aint much but it is honest work and a decent retainer for writing the draft of a book together and only ever writing 4 parts per month!
Where to from here?
Well there are two things that need to happen!
ONE: A new book needs to be written! We need to continue with the story!
TWO: Edit the first book and get it published! Even if this means just getting it on Amazon KDP or something similar.
Right... time to get cracking then!
