I started taking creatine supps when I started to workout in 2001. Did it work some magic? nah.. i don't think so, but it did help me kick off my body tranformation from non-workerouter to gym rat. :P
I took it on and off throughout the years and never saw any great diff.. maybe a few lbs. of water weight and maybe 1 extra rep per exercise.. (or that could just be the feeling that u are stronger, because u are purposely trying to take things like creatine, to optimize performance.
So, HMB seemed to me like creating plus, for those 50+ y/o. What could it hurt? and if it DID work at all.. then isn't that worth 12 cents a day? I went ahead and got me a bottle, but I wouldn't feel lost without it.
- Brain mass decreases
- muscle mass decreases
- Bone mass decreases
(aka. u get old..)
Now check out this dude..
Dr. Shawn Baker
He's all about getting loads of creatine and HMB and other good stuff from his carnivore diet. But is it that he and most other buff guys are into doing things that may or may not really make a diff, or is any supp actually make it or break it for if u will be buff or not?
I think it's a matter of health mineded people doing healthy things.. such as taking supps and the like.
*It sounds to me like creatine and HMB are similar in a way, but HMB is more for older individuals. It also sounds like it's a helpful aid to boost what the body will start doing, and prolonged taking of it will just slowly diminish in any actual help.
Here's the vid I watched about it..
So, I am glad I tried it. It costs LESS than creatine (because the dose needed is smaller), and the pills are a heck of a lot easier to take everyday, compared to mixing in creatine powder into a protein shake.
