Hello everyone and happy Tuesday to all. I have just got myself the Clip Studio Paint oftware, I saw many great artist using it, so i figured it was time for me to step up from those free softwares and see what the real things can do. You know the old saying : "You get what you pay for" and i is true. Compare to this paid version, the free sketch software that I use (or was using) seems uite limited compare to Clip Studio.
There are 2 versions of Clip Studio Paint, the Pro and the EX versions. I was wondering what were the differences between the two and I have learned the main one. The pro version is limited to 24 frames for animations, as for the EX is unlimited. 24 frames is not alot, but good enough to start. Besides, most animated icons do not last more thatn a second or two. The downside of being limited to 24 frames is that you can not test everything in a single animation at first, because you do not have enough space to be able to tests out all the visual effects...when I'll get there.
So after reading a little bit on the sibject, I found soe nice video turorials to help out. SO I started with basic, I did not force myself in anyway for the drawings, did not want to lose time on it while learning. Even there, it took alot more time that I would o though to geteverything into place.
First thing first, I playe around with the frames options. Added some keyframes and a 2D camera, which seems to me like the basic of them all. After getting those correctly, I will be able to move on onto something that is more...well, less child like.
Here is the very first GIF animation that I did of an ugly bird to get the concept, you can see that even if it is rather simple, it can become quickly overwhelming with all the diffrents panels oppened in the software :
the exporte versions gives this :
Those basics, I have mostly learned them via the tutorial on animations for Clip Studio Paint that is avilable below. It is a little long, but also is rather complete :
After knowing the limitations of 24 frames and to make sure that I could remember the few tricks that I have learned, I did a quick animation of a simple (...very simple) guy dancing. Simpleway to vombine the use of frames, keyframes, and 2D camera view. Nothing glamorous, but enough to help my understanding of the entire thing. So even if theses are not the most complex animations, I am happy with the starting results and can't wait to play with it again
I hope you guys like it. Thanks for the view
