It's been almost 2 weeks. Heavy rain has not been enough to pour down my area, I don't know if this is a blessing or a hindrance for me because with continuous rain like this some of my work is very disturbed and with continuous rain like this it is very profitable for rice farmers, in the last two days Tractors are starting to come down to plow the farmers' land. Apart from hindering my work, this rain is also very beneficial on the other hand for me because I can easily get what I hunt in the forest, namely mushrooms. Straw mushrooms or palm mushrooms (Volvariella volvacea) are one of the mushrooms that I found during an afternoon hunt. I found this mushroom growing on a sago tree that was rotting because it was left to rot next to a swamp. This mushroom is one of the mushrooms that oil palm farmers often look for for consumption. Usually this fungus often grows on dead palm trunks and empty oil palm bunches, today I am very happy because I found it in a different place. Apart from growing outside in forests, it is also very easy to find this mushroom in the market because this is a mushroom that many mushroom cultivator communities have grown. Cultivating straw mushrooms has a huge opportunity to make a profit, but this does not apply in my area, because most people are still hesitant to consume various kinds of mushrooms, only a few are brave. Straw mushrooms that are sold in the market or are suitable for consumption and contain nutrients are According to research, when I found this mushroom, I picked all the mushrooms that had these characteristics. I also picked some of those that were starting to develop, the mushroom umbrella had already separated from the membrane. , it tastes the same, even what I taste, it tastes better than the one that is still covered in membrane. On the fruiting bodies of high quality straw mushrooms, the hood develops like a dark brown cup with a slight mixture of gray and the stem is light brown. Unfortunately, 80% of the straw mushrooms that I found have started to expand so we can't possibly consume them, at 5 p.m. On November 30 2023 I returned to the location where these mushrooms grew to monitor their condition, unfortunately these mushrooms had withered and there was no sign that these mushrooms would appear again in this place.
