I went looking for fungi in the wood again today. The weather was nice and dry which made it a lot easier to walk around, as opposed to wet and muddy. I saw a mix of fresh and decaying fungi mostly growing on old logs. I never know what they all are, but it was interesting to see a different selection.
These are fan shaped and layered so they look like turkey tails, growing on the dead wood.
These are actually very tiny bonnet fungi. They were that small, I had to get up close and personal with them, otherwise they would have got lost in the photo.
This was a brown, round cap with white gills. It was soft to the touch. It looked as though something had been nibbling on it.
This one was unusually zig zag shaped. I liked the orange colour next to the green algae.
At the moment, I have to really hunt the fungi out, as they are still quite scarce. I still enjoyed my short walk, though, for my contribution to #fungifriday by .
