I wasn't going to post any drawings for today's #Fungifriday. I didn't even think of that. But after I sat down and started to scroll though today's entries and saw the artsy ones... well... I felt a little embarrassed.
So while doing other chores I was thinking what to draw. It is always faster, when you have the idea ready. And it all started with a completely different one. But as the day went by it all changed.
A few times.
One thing lead to another until I ended up on something that reminded me of Henri Matisse paintings. One paining actually. Oh if only he could participate...
I am sure he would if he didn't die in 1954 :) Then that one paining would look a lot different. Most definitely!
But since he is not here....
It all started with the idea as you know.
Then just a quick guidelines to know what's where. Saves time fixing it later too.
Must add mushrooms of course.
Just a rough sketch for now to get the idea on a paper.
Now it all starts to come together. I use Sketchbook app to draw and with their ink pen I outline the shapes. Awesome pen by the way and it is the one I normally use for anything.
After I have that done I hide the previous two layers. Won't need them anymore.
Time for the fun part - coloring!
Each mushroom on a separate layer too. It's easier to fix some mess-ups that way without touching other shroomsies.
Basic colours done. Now adding some details and shadows to each one of them. Now they get some characters and faces.
After I am happy with the result, I merge all the layers so the details, outlines and colours for each mushroom are on one.
That Amanita came to the party drunk... nothing I can do about it.
Time to add some stuff to the background. It will add dimension to the image too. Ink pen is the shit here again :)
Amanita still drinking.
I have no words for that dude...
Time to frame them!
And add my name so they know who framed them.
And I was gonna finish here. Normally I would keep the background white, but why not try some colours.
With some cool effect brush I added some sky and "grass".
We are done!

And just so you know which Matisse paining I was thinking of, this one 👇. Almost the same right? 😆
