Tadaaa we are done with week 17. I got myself a nice cup of tea and went though all the posts again choosing and changing my mind a few times of what to feature today. I see some of you got really hooked on the toys and the results are really cool.
Well done everyone!
But before we get to the chosen 8 today, I have a nice word for you:
The word Mycorrhiza is combination of two Greek words “mycos=fungus” and “rhiza=root” which means “fungus root” (Smith and Read, 2008).[source]
Mycorrhizae are a symbiotic association between plant roots and fungi. Their major role is to enhance nutrient and water uptake by the host plant by exploiting a larger volume of soil than roots alone can do. [source]
I think I have mentioned about it some time ago in one of my posts. It is quite a fascinating topic, so if you are interested, the source links will get to articles with more info.
And now my favourite 8 from yesterday, in no particular order.
How to join #FungiFriday:
- when Friday comes (UTC time) post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, I will check and report stolen images or text!)

Bonus:
Among all the correct entries I will pick the best, most interesting, most creative posts. Those will be included in the challenge Summary Post published during the weekend.

To participate in this part, the post has to be published from the FungiFriday Community.
That's all for today.
