Since I lived here in the province, there's a lot to show here and one of them are those fungi who pop out of nowhere and gives off a different vibe wherein my interest was caught.
I've been taking shots of these fungi for a long time already and I've been searching for communities where to drop my shots. Luckily I found this community so it's my first time to enter the challenge, My contribution to FungiFriday by .
Here we go by starting with this fungi called Split Gills according to this website. I found this one when I was chopping some firewoods here in our home this day. When I'm about to cut a piece of G-melina lumber which I collected when there's a flood here, I noticed brown spots at the surface. I took a closer look to see what it is and I'm surprised to see these healthy looking fungi.
The lumber is just starting to dry out and that explains why some of it are just starting to develop. As you can see in the photo below, when they begin to form, it will start with that tiny body which has a hole in it's top. Then later on it will open up forming that beautiful like waves which comes in different shapes but mostly in circle or in oval.
Just like this one which it takes in a circle form. The next photo below which took in a layered one. I was amazed how the arrangement of this one. The little one is at the top while the widest is underneath.
The next would be this one which I found them under the roots of a decaying coconut next in our house. It is called Fairy Parachutes according to this website. I didn't know it's name that's why I searched and searched until I bumped into the image on the said website.
While I was sweeping in our yard this morning, my attention was caught and I got curious enough making me to stop what I'm doing. While I was checking on them, I'm smiling because I felt like that I'm navigating in a forest packed with these living things. For a few minutes I traveled in my fantasy world wherein I'm an elf hihi.
Well who would not be charmed when you see something like this beautiful. I wish I have a better camera to capture these white fairies.
The third one that I discovered this day was the Mica cap according to this site. I found this one beside the stem of a decaying mango tree beside the river.
Since it's been raining here for days already I thought this morning to wonder around the mini forest beside the river here to try my luck if I can find some edible mushrooms. I noticed them while I was looking so why not show it to my grandma if it's edible. I asked it when I got home and she said no, they've never eaten this kind before but they see it very often.
According to the site where I got it's name, it says that its edible but it need to be consume immediately or else it will turn to nothing. For our safety we will not dare to eat this one even if I learned that it's edible.
While wondering longer outside, I found two more intersting fungi. The first photo below is like an umbrella. I found in on top of the decaying malungay tree. There's something on top then I got curious again leading me to see that one.
The second photo is just like an umbrella also but it's more like a jelly fish because of it's stem which is long.
I found it between the stem of the Alitiris tree beside our home. It's difficult to take pictures of it since it's just too small and the lense of my phone can't handle it that's why I took a video of it in 720 resolution then took a screen shot but still the quality is not good.
With all that being said, this is getting longer again so I will end it now. If you know the names of the last two photos then it's appreciated if you can comment it.
Thank you for reading this one.
