Often, when walking through the forest in search of noble and edible mushroom varieties, we come across eaten or partially gnawed specimens. In many cases, it's clear that this isn't the work of snails or beetles, but of other creatures.
Często spacerując po lesie w poszukiwaniu szlachetnych i jadalnych odmian grzybów natrafiamy na osobniki zjedzone, ponadgryzane. W wielu przypadkach widać, że nie jest to sprawka ślimaków czy żuków, ale innych stworzeń.
This is evidenced by characteristic marks on the mushroom, most often on its tastiest part: the cap. These marks clearly indicate that the culprit is a rodent – and that's a fact.

Charakterystyczne ugryzienia pozostawiają najczęściej wiewiórki, które uwielbiają świeże leśne grzyby, nie tylko borowiki. Gryzonie odporne są na toksyny zawarte w grzybach, i zjadają również grzyby trujące dla człowieka.
Partially gnawed mushrooms also provide important information for foragers. Teeth marks and cavities on mushrooms indicate that there are very few mushrooms in the forest and that it's not yet the peak season for foraging.
Nadgryzione grzyby to również istotny sygnał, informacja dla zbieraczy. Ślady zębów i ubytki na grzybach, świadczą o tym, że jest ich w lesie bardzo mało i że nie jest to jeszcze top sezon na ich pozyskiwanie.

Indeed, this plant stands out from other medicinal herbs with its incredible range of healing properties.
Ta dziwna i tajemnicza roślina na zdjęciu powyżej to Dziewięćsił (z łaciny Carlina). Jest to roślina lecznicza uznawana kiedyś za roślinę magiczną o niezwykłych właściwościach, przewyższających wszystkie inne znane zioła. I rzeczywiście, roślina ta wyróżnia się na tle innych ziół leczniczych niesamowitym spektrum działań leczniczych.
