There are many ways we use our phones to relax, and each of us has different preferences. Personally, I have just a few apps that I use, and interestingly, no games at the moment. Although I used to have games on my phone but got tired of them.
For about a year now, I haven’t had any games except for Candy Crush, which I deleted a few months ago when I realized I wasn’t playing it anymore, and it was just taking up space. One reason, I don’t have games is that I only love to play games when I have connection issues or my data is finished. I can’t have data and be playing games and most games that I feel are good use internet connection.
One reason I don’t have games is that I only enjoy playing them when I have connection issues or my data runs out. I rarely play games when I have data, lol, I’ll find myself doing something else or on social media, and most games I find interesting require an internet connection.
Offline games just get boring over time. For instance, I used to enjoy Subway Surfer, but I eventually got bored of it and deleted it. Candy Crush stayed on my phone longer because it doesn’t require as much focus as motion-based games like Subway Surfer.
Even when I downloaded online games, they just didn’t seem to be worth it. If you have any game recommendations, I’d love to know. Here are apps I use to relax.
YOUTUBE
YouTube is one of my favourite streaming platforms, I enjoy watching shows, vlogs, talks, games, and everything in between. Sometimes, I download some videos to watch during times of poor data connection or no data subscription.
One thing I love about YouTube is how vast it can be—you can learn a lot through YouTube, you can have a good laugh, you can see through other people’s perspectives of life, and much more. It is just a fun way to pass the time.
TELEGRAM AND VLC
I am a big fan of movies, and I mostly watch them. I used to have Netflix on my phone but not anymore. I prefer downloading movies on Telegram and watching them using VLC. Netflix doesn’t have all kinds of movies, but with Telegram, I can download a variety of films including anime. My Telegram and VLC apps work hand in hand—they depend on each other.
I have always been looking for where I can watch or download movies, series, anime, and cartoons. Ever since someone introduced me to Telegram I have enjoyed it. Although I am not sure about the legalities of this, I really don’t know much about such matters.
BOOKS
I love reading books, mostly hardcovers. Recently, a friend of mine added me to a group where I got about 100 e-books. With this, I have started using an e-reader app (Books) more often, and I believe I will get used to reading e-books habitually in due time.
Reading books is incredibly fun for me; it is one of my favourite ways to spend time. Just like movies, but with the added joy of imagining the scenarios, which is just amazing.
BOOMPLAY
Who doesn’t love music? I don’t think anyone should hate music, haha. We all have different apps we use to listen to music, but for me, Boomplay is my go-to app. I don’t know why I love the app; maybe because other apps just look complicated to me. I started using Boomplay about two years ago and I still love it.
Although, it has a premium subscription, but I am not on any subscription.
These are the few apps I mostly use during my leisure time. Do you also use any of these apps? Do you have any recommendations? Let me know.
Actually, I just found out about the juneinleo prompt, it is amazing, check it out! Although this is the day 2 prompt but I still felt like sharing.
