When these purchases are done on a tight budget, it makes it even more difficult. A piece of your mind would be judging you for not spending wisely. If we have some extra money to spare, purchasing the basic things of life won't be difficult.
While I see purchasing extravagant mobile phones as a luxury, a lot of other people have found some beneficial use of these basic things we see as luxury. Someone purchases an iPhone or Samsung mobile for over two hundred dollars, and we see that as a luxury, advising them to buy something smaller and cheaper after all, mobile phones all serve the same purpose.
I learned my lessons and now understand that mobile phones do not all serve the same purpose, and if anyone has the money to purchase a thousand-dollar mobile phone, they can go ahead so long as they find it very needful, useful, and fit for the purpose for which they want it.
All this while, I had thought that the people who purchase iPhones and expensive gadgets often do so to show off; they love these fancy things and would do anything to buy them. It was when I started having some challenges with my Tecno phones that I realized some importance attached to iPhones.
- Picture quality
With this device above, I have access to the best picture shot for my blogging on Hive. Before now, I had managed the picture quality I got with my Android. The moment I got this iPhone, even though it is the least expensive in the class of iPhones, the picture quality of my blogs improved.
Pictures can say a thousand words, and you can see the magical difference between the pictures below. The first one is from my iPhone, and the second is from my Tecno Mobile.
Even though the techno phones have imported on their camera quality adding AI features to enhance the quality of the image below, it doesn't look as genuine as the real images I get using the iPhone.
The lowest-grade iPhone class can give the best pictures when compared with the highest-grade (quality) Techno phones. I can even take pictures at night and still have them look good enough with my iPhone.
If you are a social media person who needs quality pictures for your blogging, marketing of products, branding, and other activities, you will need an iPhone or any other expensive mobile device that can give you good pictures. It is not a luxury if you are purchasing such expensive phones as an investment. These mobile devices are usually very expensive, but when utilized well, you will get back as much of what you spent purchasing them. It is not a luxury to say, but an important and useful device here.
- Storage capacity
Also, with this device above, I have access to a large storage capacity.
The iPhone 7 device here has a storage capacity of 256 GB of RAM, while my Tecno Mobile has only 62 GB of storage. The highest-end Tecno phones I have come across have a storage capacity of at most 128 GB of RAM, unless there are newer ones I am yet to know of.
My Tecno phone is long filled up and can no longer take any more pictures. While I do not wish to delete any of these pictures, sometimes I can't keep a memorable picture for long because of phone storage problems. I have to delete one item to make room for another.
Ever since I got the iPhone, the storage issues have been completely erased. I have thousands of pictures saved on my iPhone and can access them anytime. It has been serving the purpose of taking and storing quality pictures for me.
There are a lot of other advantages I have found with using these iPhones, and even though it was really expensive and the money for a single iPhone can purchase two Tecno mobiles for me, I was glad that the device surpassed my expectations of its usefulness and that the money for it was worth it, even though I was regretting spending so much to purchase this as well.
- Accessing the internet
When the newui (threads, microblogs) was introduced by the Leofinance community on Hive, I was unable to access the interface for about 6 months. My Tecno phone couldn't login or use threads. At that time, I had the need to buy a new device, so I opted for the iPhone. The very same day I got the iPhone, I was able to login to #inleo before joining other activities in the community using that interface. My Android phone was at a disadvantage as there are some specific internet functions that only iOS devices can perform or pick up much earlier than other devices.
All of these advantages put together made me realize that purchasing the iPhone was worth it in the end, as the purchase that I felt was a luxurious waste has exceeded my expectations of its important use.
Ipones may be disadvantaged when it comes to battery function capacity, but backing them up with good power banks erases such limitations.
All images are mine.
