The Big Picture
I run into them on occasion.
They seem so angry.
I guess we all have a certain amount of anger in us.
Sometimes it gets released.
Other times it gets stored up and rots inside.
That's dangerous.
I think these types of people, the haters I call them,
are victims of that rot inside.
They can only tolerate one way of viewing things.
Otherwise it upsets them to a degree a reasonable person would find unbalanced.
It is more than anger and hate being projected,
but an alarming sense of fear.
It's like if their view of the world is not as they think it is—then all hell will break loose.
I imagine them sitting there with a stunned look on their face.
Unable to cope with a reality that's all around them,
but they weren't willing—to see it.
Now they have become forced to.
There was safety in their former beliefs.
Now there's a big step forward they must take.
They kick and scream against it.
They won't take that step.
So they lash out at those who ask them to.
You can't force people to believe something that is out of their realm.
It's best to just leave them alone.
Even to avoid them, if possible.
People in my group talk about waking up others.
You can't.
They have to come out of their slumber themselves.
It can be a long hard road for them.
Most won't do it.
Sadly that is the majority.
We in the so-called fringe minority with our unacceptable views,
have not played along.
We have voiced a different opinion.
We grow very slowly in number.
We may not agree on the minutia.
But we agree on one thing
and that's all I can really ask—the big picture.
