For few days now I've been allowing my birds to roam within the garden, reason is that i fumigate their cage because often time i do fumigate their house also to disinfect every form of infections from their harbor, to every their feesing trough and all
So i took the birds away from their cage so as not to be disturbed with the chemicals.
So while they are roaming the compound i noticed the birds are more free and lively, infact they are even eaten more compared to when they are in the cage.
They went on feeding on some little organisms which is good for them, these are what they cant do while in the cage. They take shield under a tree and also eating out some succulent leafy parts which is good for their growth and wellness.
As a farmer or a poultry rearer, all these little observations are important as to know the best method for what you are planting or rearing
I will also advice for those that have a garden or compound to get involved in a free range poultry system as its relatively cheap, and easy to maintain. Also the birds tend to benefit more from this practices.
