Hello everyone. Hope you’re all having a nice day. Thought it would be fun to join on the #5yearsphotochallenge
A lot have changed in the past five years. Im in a completely different place. Five years ago I was in Venezuela and I was already thinking about leaving but it was very difficult cause I was earning around 10 dollars a month. My grandma was alive and I still could see most of my friends before we would all emigrate to other countries.
Five years ago we thought there was an option to end the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela. We were hopeful that things would change but they haven’t yet.
Five years ago I was with my friends on a coffee having a wonderful time without knowing it would be one of our last meetings together.
Five years ago I also met one of my favorite Venezuelan singers: Judy Buendía. It was amazing to see her live performing in a musical. She’s not only a great singer but also an incredible actress.
Also five years ago I was with my cat laying in bed, without knowing that a couple of years later I wouldn’t see him for years. Sweet days. Miss him.
Now here I am in the exile, living in Argentina for over three years and learning new things that I would’ve never imagined. Also going through a world pandemic that would change the way we interact with each other probably forever.
And after all here I am. Like Elton John says: I’m still standing.
Hope you’re all doing great. Until next time.
Andy.
