Hello, Hive friends. It's been a long time since I last visited this amazing community. I had a dream last night of me drinking some French-vanilla flavored coffee chillin' on a hammock listening to the sounds of nature and I thought I'd share something about one cafe I visited not so long ago - a vintage French-Inspired Cafe up in the mountains here in the Philippines.
One weekend before Christmas Day prior to the pandemic - which was December of 2019, my daughter and I visited my friends somewhere up in the mountains (Baguio City, Philippines). We decided to spend 2 days up there because of the cool weather - you can feel the Christmas vibe when you are wearing coats and feeling the breezy mountain air. For those who don't know, the Philippines has only 2 seasons - wet and dry. Either way, the temperature doesn't change much. It is always hot and humid in most parts of the country and wearing winter clothes is not applicable. You can only do that in the highlands.
On the first day we arrived up in Baguio, we visited some Christmas Villages in the city, partook in some great food and some places of interest. The day from that point onward, one of our friends invited us for a breakfast buffet and of course, favorite part - COFFEE! Getting caffeinated in the mountains is the best!
So, we are here.
Vanilla Cafe (Kamiseta Hotel)
(my daughter was too excited to get inside the cafe)
At the point when we were outside, it didn't impress me that much since it looks extremely common, however when we got inside, I thought we were visiting the Beauty and the Beast Castle. Okay, I'm being exaggerated, but it is truly gorgeous! It stands out compared to the most of the cafes in the city.
The brilliant classic feel were strikingly apparent in each corner. There are indoor eating spaces as well as outdoors feasting. Everything is generally looked exquisite. I was in awe. Obviously I didn't burn through my time, so I began taking photographs haha.
Envision a blend of gorgeous interior and aesthetic mood, this is actually the thing this cafe gives you. You will see the value in the beautiful vibe and pleasant stylistic theme.
Inside of the cafe makes you smile and take lots of photos for sure.
Alright, now let's go get something to eat.
My daughter could't wait to get her plate and I was too excited to try their brewed coffee.
For my breakfast, I had fried rice, fried fish (dilis in Tagalog), fried potatoes and fried eggplant. My daughter had the same, a cupcake and a hot choco drink. By the way, Vanilla Cafe serves Filipino dishes and specializes in cupcakes as their main type of desserts. The food was good, but their cupcakes are a bit too sweet for me. My daughter liked it so, that's all that matters to me.
After breakfast, we continued taking more photos.
The place is very instagrammable especially for Gen- Zs and millennials. I can't wait to go back their again to try other dishes with their coffee and take a hundred more photos. Every corner is definitely a snap worthy. I admit though, food is a little bit costly, yet, you're paying for the ambiance and atmosphere as well.
So if you're planning for an out-of-town travel and looking for something unique, I suggest you to visit Vanilla Cafe. If you're craving for something sweet, their cupcakes are great. They additionally serve dinner and they have conventional breakfast plates like eggs and bacon. I simply wish that their team of waiters are more mindful as it generally requires investment to arrange or even get a menu particularly assuming you are sitting outside. Other than that, it was an amazing experience.
Like I've mentioned above, it's like walking inside the Beauty and the Beast Castle or straight out of wonderland where the mad hatter used to have his magical tea party.
