Greetings coffee-loving friends! Today I had to go to the city to do some shopping for materials for my workshop and being in the city centre I remembered a coffee shop that since I was a teenager I used to visit with my mother and my 2 sisters. Today I was with my mother and my daughter, so I invited them to the place to remember old times.

We arrived and nostalgia invaded me. This place was a mandatory meeting point every week when we got out of class, when we went to the city for an errand or simply when we were on our way back home and needed to buy bread and cheese for breakfast.

It's amazing how one place can be so important to an entire family. I remember some cheese sandwiches they sold at this place, but my favourite were the croissants.

This time we ordered a large latte. It was served in a white porcelain cup and accompanied by a small buttery biscuit. We were hungry, so my mother and I ordered a cheese bread which was very soft, fluffy and delicious. Just as I remembered the taste of bread from this place.

It has been more than 8 years since I visited this place. I was very impressed that the car decorations on the walls, the tables, the layout of the café and the sculptures of the baker, whom my sisters and I fondly called "Pansini ", are all the same.

This bakery belongs to a family of Italians who settled many years ago in the city of San Cristóbal, in the Táchira state of Venezuela, and all its generations have maintained this place that is a restaurant, bakery, deli and cafeteria.

While I was enjoying my coffee, I could almost see my sisters in those teenage years, with their rocker style and their coffees. I miss meeting up with my sisters who are far away and we can only communicate by phone. I could see my mum from those years, younger, with money, inviting everything we wanted to eat at the place. And I could also see myself, young, a university student with a whole life ahead of me.

More than 20 years of being my family's favourite place. Now I would like to teach my little daughter the family tradition.

What gives me joy and satisfaction is that the place not only maintains its appearance, but also keeps the traditional flavours in its delicious coffee and bread.

¡Saludos amigos amantes del café! Hoy he tenido que ir a la ciudad para hacer unas compras de materiales para mi taller y estando en el centro de la ciudad recordé una cafetería que desde que era una adolescente visitaba junto a mi madre y mis 2 hermanas. Hoy estaba con mi madre y mi hija, así que las invité al lugar para recordar viejos tiempos.

Llegamos y la nostalgia me invadió. Este lugar era un punto de encuentro obligatorio cada semana cuando salíamos de clase, cuando íbamos por alguna diligencia a la ciudad o simplemente cuando íbamos de regreso a casa y necesitábamos comprar el pan y el queso para el desayuno.

Es impresionante como un sitio puede llegar a ser tan importante para una familia entera. Recuerdo unos emparedados de queso que vendían en este lugar, pero mis favoritos eran los croissant.

Esta vez pedimos un café con leche grande. Nos sirvieron en una taza de porcelana blanca y acompañando una pequeña galleta de mantequilla. Teníamos hambre, así que mi madre y yo pedimos un pan de queso que estaba muy suave, esponjoso y delicioso. Tal cual como recordaba el sabor del pan de este lugar.

Hace más de 8 años que no visitaba este lugar. Me impresionó mucho que las decoraciones de automóviles en las paredes, las mesas, la distribución de la cafetería y las esculturas del panadero, al que mis hermanas y yo llamábamos de cariño "Pansini", está todo igual.

Esta panadería es de una familia de italianos que se estableció hace muchos años en la ciudad de San Cristóbal, estado Táchira de Venezuela, y todas sus generaciones han mantenido este lugar que es restaurante, panadería, charcutería y cafetería.

Mientras disfrutaba de mi café, casi podía ver a mis hermanas en aquellos años de adolescencia, con su estilo de rockeras y con sus cafés. Extraño reunirme con mis hermanas que están lejos y solamente podemos comunicarnos por teléfono. Pude ver a mi mamá de esos años, más joven, con dinero invitando todo lo que se nos antojara comer en el lugar. Y también pude verme, joven, estudiante de la universidad y con toda una vida por delante.

Más de 20 años de ser el lugar predilecto de mi familia. Ahora me gustaría enseñarle a mi pequeña hija la tradiciónde la familia.

Lo que me da alegría y satisfacción, es que el lugar no solamente mantiene su apariencia, también conservan los sabores de siempre en su delicioso café y pan.
