Hello friends!
In the last few days, I learned how to prepare a delicious and easy coffee syrup. This syrup is very versatile as it can be used to flavor foods and also make desserts. It is something wonderful that I want to share with you.
To prepare desserts, I use instant coffee as it allows me to easily manage the concentration of flavor I want. Usually, a syrup is a thick preparation that we can add to other preparations. For example, chocolate syrup is a favorite topping for ice cream, waffles, cakes, and many other things. In the case of this coffee syrup, it can also be a great alternative.
To prepare this coffee syrup, you must mix 3 tablespoons of instant coffee with 1 tablespoon of hot water so that it dissolves well. Once the coffee is liquid add 3 tablespoons of honey. To give it a special flavor you can add 1/2 teaspoon of the liqueur of your preference. I used rum. Mix all the ingredients well, and that's it. You can use it immediately or keep it in the refrigerator for another occasion.
For today's snack, I wanted to surprise my family by preparing a delicious dessert using coffee syrup, so a pie was a good option.
The ingredients to prepare this dessert are:
1 cup of ground cookies
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup condensed milk
1 1/2 unflavored gelatin powder
coffee syrup
Crush the cookies to be the base of the pie. I found some orange cookies, an amazing flavor when combined with coffee.
To make the base of the pie uniform. It is recommended to sift the cookies to avoid large cookie pieces.
Place the crushed cookies on the pie pan and press with your hands to form a compact layer.
Put the unflavored gelatin in a small dish and sprinkle a little water over it. This is to hydrate the gelatin. Once it absorbs the water it looks like a sponge. Place the hydrated gelatin in a saucepan and place over low heat until it becomes liquid, turn off, and set aside.
Whip the whipping cream and then add the condensed milk. Mix well and then add the liquid gelatin. Pour the mixture into the pie pan with the cookie base.
Add the coffee syrup, and then with the help of a bamboo stick carefully stir the syrup strands. This gives a magnificent touch to the pie, and when you cut it, you will find the bitter taste and the sweetness of the whipped cream. It's like painting with coffee!
Refrigerate the pie for a couple of hours.
If you are a coffee lover, you know it is a wonderful drink allows you to explore several ways to consume it. I'll leave you for now because if I'm careless my family will eat this whole pie and I won't be able to taste it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
If you like my recipe, leave me your comment. It would be fabulous to read your impressions.
Thanks for reading. See you in a future post!
