Where do you run to when it feels like everything is falling apart? Or if something bothers you deeply? Because I run to a cup of iced coffee. This drink had been my go-to stress reliever. It feels like every sip takes away my worries and doubts little by little.
Recently, I have been feeling overwhelmed by my training. I enrolled in a bookkeeping course, and it was not as easy as I thought it would be. Although I already have experience in accounting, I still felt overwhelmed by the material in the class. And that's when I knew I needed an escape - a quick coffee date.
We decided to have coffee in the town proper, which is 20 minutes away from our home. It was the "Café de la Mer", and it became popular in town because of its iced coffee. It will be our first time here.
Upon arrival, we noticed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the coffee shop. Even with its small interior space and outdoor area, we still felt it was worth being here.
Of course, it was the best time to use my "what's your best seller?" card. That is what I asked the staff when ordering. By the way, my partner chose our table and he wanted to enjoy the fresh air from the outside. We have decided to have our coffee in the outdoor space of this cafe.
I ordered two iced coffees for us, one Caramel Macchiato for my partner, and mine is a Spanish Latte. Additionally, I ordered their best-selling Tiramisu cake for us.
After waiting for a few minutes, the staff had already served our orders to the table. I was the one who grabbed the Tiramisu cake from their fridge, and the iced coffees were served after.
I took photos of them first, then we started our "taste test". Kidding aside, we started sipping on our coffees and talked about random things. I didn't come here for a deep conversation, but to refresh my mind and enjoy the coffee. That's why we only discussed light topics, shared jokes, and watched some Reels and videos on Facebook. You know, I deserve that moment sometimes instead of just focusing on studying, training, and writing blog content.
Luckily, my partner understood the assignment—to make me laugh. And to make me forget my responsibilities for a while. We just enjoyed the night with our silly conversations, and that was good enough for me to recharge.
The coffee? Great! I like the taste, and my partner also loved his. The Tiramisu cake was also perfect, and I could not say anything bad about it. I will make another blog review of the Tiramisu, but for now, I wanted to share the experience at Cafe de la Mer. We will go back here again and again!
