A frozen vanilla coffee for a proud Hiver

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend for the first time to an event in the city of Lima, Peru, where Hive was present with a Workshop that was great, but I will talk about that experience later in another post. After a long day, we decided to look for a different place where we had not been before, to have a coffee to recharge our energy after a day full of activities. We were in a very well known shopping mall in the city where different well-known franchises abound, but as I said, we wanted to try a different flavor. So we entered Dunkin Donuts, yes, a place that specializes in selling donuts.

You may be wondering why choose a place that specializes in donuts and not coffee, well, what happened was that we passed by the front of this establishment and the smell of coffee was very strong and seductive, so we did not hesitate much to enter.

I ordered a Frozen Vanilla to refresh myself since I had been walking all day, plus the weather called for it. This drink comes topped with whipped cream and is one of the most delicious I have tasted so far, I say this because I have tried it in other establishments and felt it bland, but this one had a perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. Regarding the Frozen Vanilla (the drink itself), I must say that it was quite sweet, much more than what I like. You can see from the color of the drink that the amount of coffee in it is quite low, which made me look very carefully for its flavor on my palate, but in spite of that it was acceptable, after all, it is not a place that specializes in making coffee.

On the other hand, my husband ordered an Iced Caramel, this comes with ice cubes that of course lower the temperature of the coffee, but the amount of these cubes was exaggerated and after a couple of sips it was already gone. I was also able to try it and to tell the truth I liked it better than mine, it had a more intense coffee flavor and that was partly what I was looking for.

Making a balance, I would say that this is the worst place where we have had coffee, not necessarily because they were very bad, but because undoubtedly the other places are better. It is evident that Dunkin Donuts does not make an effort to prepare good coffees, but what is spectacular are their donuts, this franchise is the largest in the country and its quality is proven.

Anyway, it was a day when I proudly wore the Hive logo on my chest at the event and through the mall, it was Saturday, there were people everywhere and I liked to think that many were wondering what logo this was, well, those of us who know, can say that it is not just anything and that it is something very important in our lives.
