Christmas is nearly upon us. I love this time of year with all the trimmings and catching up with everyone for numerous meals and drinks. I don't really need an excuse to eat and drink though, it comes naturally! I liked the sign in one of our local cafés, "patience is not the ability to wait, but how you've acted while waiting". When there's food on the go I'm not very patient.
We had an assortment of offerings, tuna panini, I plumped for the roasted vegetable panini with salad and crisps with a latte while the pooch looked on, ready to pounce if any food landed on the floor. He will have to beat me to it though!
Followed by cake and a cappuccino with a free biscoff biscuit. The café offered homemade food, that is mostly locally sourced with lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. It's good to look at a menu knowing there's lots of choice. Veganism seems to have taken off in a big way.
The saddest part is after the new year all the trimmings are taken down and everything looks bare again. They ought to make it cosy and twinkly looking all year round!
