We recently paid a visit to the Chatsworth Estate, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. I'm not a royalty fan but I love their back garden!
I've been coming here since I was a child and I will always return. This time we called in at the village of Edensor (pronounced Enzer), which is mostly owned by the Chatsworth Estate and is situated right next to the estate.
After a walk, we popped into the Edensor Cafe for a coffee and a bite to eat. The last time we visited the cafe we had to sit outside because of the covid regulations. This time, we could sit inside. It was a bit chilly so I was very grateful.
It was quite snug and warm inside with a log burner and an old fashioned scuttle and crockery, that my grandma used to have.
I ordered a latte made with coconut milk and a vegetarian fry up. I'm not a fan of baked beans being put in a little pot. It's a bit too posh for me. Whack them on the plate, that's what I say!! The food and drink were perfect for a chilly day though. As Chatsworth and Edensor are tourist places it cost twice as much as I'd normally pay for breakfast. Oh hum.
Outside a little robin was looking for breakfast too. I would have thrown it some crumbs but the window was tightly shut.
On the way out we met a puppy called Meg whose owner was also enjoying a latte. We just had to say hello. How could we ignore those puppy dog eyes?!
