I had to take my little car in to have its MOT today (to see if it's roadworthy). It's like me, getting a bit old now, so I didn't really expect it to pass. Anyway, I had half an hour to kill, so I walked down to the local charity shop that has its own café. It's a good charity shop, but it's becoming too much like a "proper shop". They have a lot of overheads, so the prices go up and up. It has become a little too expensive for the customers it was originally aimed for.
It looked empty from this photo, but it was packed out. I didn't think people would like me taking photos of them slurping their coffee and getting crumbs on their jumpers.
I managed to get a table, and they kindly bought me a frothy black americano over and a Snicker bar. I'm trying to cut down on my chocolate intake, but it's always a little stressful taking your car in. I needed the sugar rush, I think.
As you can see, the Snicker bar didn't last too long. I'm sure other diners think I'm taking photos for Instagram. It's a shame that if I mention Hive, nobody seems to have heard about it. They think it's the other company that sells smart home devices! When I explain, their eyes glaze over, and I know I've lost their attention. It's a bit like me when people talk to me about cooking!
After I'd drunk my coffee, I had a little walk around the rest of the charity shop. No, I didn't come out with a new washing machine ...
.... and no, unfortunately, my little car didn't pass its MOT. The mechanic is sorting it out tomorrow. I need another coffee, I think. Oh, hum .....
