Black coffee is something that unites my father and me, every time I go to my father's house we always have a cup of coffee, my father likes strong coffee as much as me, we put little sugar in it, well me, my father does not take any sugar because he is diabetic, he usually takes it without any sugar and rarely uses his type of sugar for diabetes, for my part I usually take a small spoonful, I like the cerrero coffee.
One of the things that unites us when drinking coffee, is that I love it when my dad goes back to his time as a waiter and starts telling me his stories, those stories that make him happy and give him back part of his happiness.
My father is an old man of 80 years old and he feels very lonely because he lives in his house and I live in mine, I have a sister but she is out of the country, she always accompanied him everywhere and he misses her very much, I try to go one day and one day not, but every time we see each other, we sit down to have our little cup of coffee, mine and his is a big cup of coffee, and there they begin their stories and I am left thinking that life goes by very fast and one would like that youth does not pass, but how nice it is when we can share our anecdotes our experiences with someone who is there to listen to us and of course nothing better than with a cup of coffee.
Something that I do not really understand is how my father can drink coffee without sugar, since he drinks it bitter and without sugar I really would not like it, I drink it with little sugar but he won me over, my father was raised in an Andean town where he has always drunk coffee, instead I came to drink coffee when I was 30 years old, my love for coffee came at an advanced age but I think I could never drink coffee without sugar, would you?
I have tried coffee in several ways, I even like it cold, I hope to be able to make soon a recipe for a coffee that a friend has taught me and share it with you here, but I would never recommend coffee without sugar to anyone, that would be kissing but without love and I sincerely love coffee.
In this photo with my coffee I show you an old iron which belonged to my father's grandmother, he has it as a souvenir in his house, we both love to collect old things, and especially to know where they come from, he tells me that she heated it on the stove and when it was hot she started to iron, I imagine that those clothes were with something black from the stove, so I like to hear those stories, I think that coffee opens the way for many stories, business, talks etc, coffee for us is a door to talk about important things and remember past times.
And who do you like to share your cup of coffee with?
Thank you all for your support!
