đ€Welcome everyone to this new post I'm making today about my experience at the Expo Feria de CafĂ©, Flores y Miel.
I must say that my excitement yesterday was at the highest level, almost that UFOs could appreciate the happiness that came out of me to witness such an event held in the facilities of the Bolivar Park in La Carlota; however, I must clarify that this initiative began on November 10 and ends today November 13.
The motivation for holding this Expo Fair is to encourage potential foreign investors as well as national investors to taste, see, buy and consume coffee produced on Venezuelan soil.
Therefore, if you can read the image, each space was properly classified, where, on the one hand, there were cafeteria style spaces and in others the coffee production process and the scientific advances developed in the country to obtain a high quality product were shown.
HISTORY OF COFFEE MACHINES IN VENEZUELA
This part was one of the most exciting, since at the same time that I enjoyed the smell of the coffee and the multiple preparations of the place, I learned a little bit of history about the Venezuelan coffee machines; everything apparently began in 1952 when Giovanni Tisi came into contact with the Gaggia factory, Italian manufacturers of coffee machines, and brought the first Italian coffee machine to Venezuelan territory.
Then innovation began to take off and in 1960 Giorgio Taurchini founded the first Giorgio Workshop dedicated solely to the service of espresso machines.
The years go by as shown in the timeline and already in 2020 the Giorgio Group celebrates 60 years of innovation in traditional coffee machines.
You will understand that this history shown in the form of a timeline filled me with absolute happiness for the new learning that I had acquired with respect to the coffee sector in Venezuela.
As you will see, the tour continues and this part of the Museum displays antique machines that have been restored for exhibition and to keep the history of coffee alive. Among the restorers are the Giorgio Group and Officina Maltoni specialized in coffee machine restorations.
OUTDOOR CAFETERIA
As this protagonist could not resist the desire to taste a coffee in such a wonderful event, I went directly to this outdoor coffee shop; it should be understood that as this event will only be for 4 days, to provide the best service and experience different removable tents were placed to create the most unique and special spaces.
In this open-air style coffee shop I must say that the prices for coffee were very affordable, as they were not really more than 4 dollars.
In my case, with my bank card in hand, I went to buy the Americano coffee which, like the Espresso, had a cost of 1$, which I would say "CHEAP CHEAPđ".
And what can I say with the desire that I had to try a coffee simply in 4 gulps, I had already drunk the whole cup; the taste of it sincerely for me was unique, I felt that the level of the product was competing with the gourmet coffees of the country as well as abroad.
CREATIVE PART
In this part I want to show you the Venezuelan creativity in the area of coffee. In the first photo you will see a cardboard image of the silhouette of a woman dressed in a dress made from the sacks where the coffee beans are transported.
The second image shows this coffee cup made and produced in Venezuela by the brand "Hecho en comuna".
To increase the level of recreation I was interested in participating in this roulette or wheel of luck where the people who were inside the event gave a slight pull to the wheel and this determined what the person won, if a cap promoting the coffee, key chains alluding to coffee or a special prize that consisted of possibly obtaining a package of ground coffee of the brand "Flor de Arauca".
Another idea that I found super creative is the placement in different posters with creative phrases alluding to coffee and the one presented in the image is the one that most represents me: "COFFEE DOES NOT GIVE ME INSOMNIA. IT MAKES ME DREAM AWAKE" (hechoen_comuna).
FROM THE LAND TO THE TABLE
Another important section to highlight for me is the way in which the different coffee plants were shown both in pots for sale and in the ground to explain their growth process.
I feel that this part is of great value, since in general the packaging of ground coffee is known, but very little is said or known in a colloquial way that ground coffee comes from a beautiful plant and that this, in turn, needs a series of care as instruments to be planted in an adequate manner.
That is why they show the different processors such as coffee grinders and the instruments used for the plantation such as the shovel, rubber boots and machete.
THE FUTURE
Incredible as it may seem, another piece of information I learned is that Venezuela, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT), has been conducting research for a long time on how to improve coffee production in terms of reducing production time and cost.
Therefore, one of the advances that gave greater fruit quality was the development of biotechnological coffee seed production. It refers to a technique developed for the extensive propagation in the form of cloning, so that the production of biotechnological coffee seeds is more efficient; by means of the somatic cells of the explant a complete plant is originated through characteristic embryological stages and not by sexual reproduction or gametes.
To define this process in a more understandable way, the research resulted in the formation of multiple coffee corns from the pieces of a coffee leaf, thus increasing its production.
Such is the effectiveness of the project that today MINCYT has a list of investors who are buying the necessary components to make the project a reality and thus increase coffee production numbers.
With technological advances, coffee has before it a universe of creative production possibilities; in such a way that special nano lot premiun coffee is already being commercialized, where through science and technology coffee quality laboratories have been developed with the objective of creating products of the best quality at a national level within the Venezuelan territory in order to compete with foreign products.
Before finishing I could not leave this innovation made by cavenfoodtrucks, this week was announced the first trailer specialized only in the sale of coffee and sweets; at this time the order was made for CafĂ© PĂro a new brand of gourmet coffee installed in the Hatillo shopping center, where now with this new means of transport can provide a new experience to each of the citizens of the Capital District while promoting their products such as high quality coffee.
I can say that this event was a total success in terms of the number of people that came from all over the world to attend the Expo Fair and that from my point of view I learned about the history of coffee machines as well as the scientific advances that Venezuela is developing in terms of production, cost and quality.
It was a wonderful experience to be able to go and participate, since for me the best part of the event was to drink and witness how they made my Americano coffee with all the dedication and love placed by the barista.
