Hello, Hivers! Good day to everyone.
Today, the sun is shining brightly. The weather is hot and humid. But despite that, it can’t stop me from having my afternoon coffee routine with ube biko. Biko is a sweet rice cake here in the Philippines made of coconut milk, brown sugar, and sticky rice. The traditional biko is much known as the color brown.
For the past 3 days, it has been a stressful day for me. I experience sleepless nights, disappointment, worry, loss of appetite, and sadness. Monitoring on social media from time to time on what is happening or what is going to happen next. Attending a prayer rally and joining a motorcade caravan. And thinking about what the plan of the people is or how the people react to this situation happening right now or what the next move of the government is. Hoping and praying this is going to end and everything is fine. He will be sent home safely, and his health condition is stable.
So, to feel a little relaxed and stop overthinking, convert my attention to the other things. I just want to share my snack for today. While watching a movie from social media and with my water also.
I have a black coffee, which is my favorite, and it makes me alert or awakens me since I have a sleepless night. And I also have a ube biko. Which I just buy from my friend. It is my first time to encounter a ube biko. Because I usually see the traditional brown biko.
Here is my ube biko with cheese.
I try to eat first the ube biko and sip a coffee. For me, the ube biko has a different taste from the biko which I used to. Maybe it was my first time eating this kind and new to my taste. Because what I love from the traditional brown biko is I like that it has ginger in it so that it isn’t boring to eat.
This is my view. I choose to sit outside. While watching the movie, I was also able to see the passing people, tricycles, motorcycles, and cars. So, I have a little distraction. Feel relax and feel the fresh air.
