Hello, Friday!
Hmmm... it's almost weekend once again in our side of the world. "Time flies" they say and I think it does...
So coffee, anyone?
I suppose no one would pass the chance for a cup of coffee, but then I can be wrong because many love tea or other beverages for that matter.
And in that case, we do have ginger tea :)
But yes, the invitation for coffee still stands for whoever wants a cup, just give me a ring, okay? LOL!
Kidding aside, coffee is really enticing today. It is drizzling and windy. So what else would one think but a hot, steaming, aromatic coffee, yeah?
And that reminded me of a certain place called U.B.C. Coffee which we loved some years ago. From the name, one would probably mistake it for a coffee shop but it's actually a fine dining, a Taiwanese food chain in the Mainland. Their menu included Indian dishes and other international cuisines, coffee and yes, teas too.
The cup below was one of the reasons why we liked the place. I forgot what it was called on their menu but I do remember the savory taste and the fullness it felt on the mouth. It was a bit sweet too.
I usually pair it with noodles for my afternoon snack. My taste buds can be weird at times, but I liked it. They do have other sweet snack options but for some reason, I just preferred their stir-fried noodles. I am a noodle-person after all :)
We fell in love with the place the first time we discovered it because it was quiet. We can stay for as long as we want without getting bothered by others. As far as I can remember, we never encountered loud ones while spending time there. Perhaps our co-patrons also loved the peace that the place offered.
It was also cozy and clean which made our experience even better. We liked the second floor better because we don't get distracted by the comings and goings of their customers. And their menu books had English translations so it was favorable for us too :)
Adding to that, their crews are very cheerful and amiable. It was interesting to watch them have their wee meetings before their shift starts. This (photo below, please pardon the poor capture) was a common sight when we visit the place in the late afternoons.
Also on the evenings, someone plays the piano and give beautiful renditions which make a romantic dinner even more romantic, lol!
Oh well, those were just some memories reminisced today while the husband drove away to my father-in-law's place, a routine that has been added and a change that we are coping up with quite nicely :)
Thank you and I wish you a wonderful Friday (Thursday) to some and a fabulous weekend as it comes!
