Hello everyone
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to participate again in the Cinnamon Cup Coffee Community and this is the first time I have participated in The Coffee Shop Prompt : 4. This time, I would like to share a special coffee experience when visiting a Hidden Gem coffee shop in the city where I live.
Galih's Coffee & Tea House – Coffee Shop in Small Alley
Some time ago, I kinda forgot it was when but I remember, I came in the afternoon on a weekend. I visited a coffee shop that I stumbled upon when I was doing a delivery job. The coffee shop is Galih's Coffee & Tea House which is located at Ketapang Street no. 17 Sekip, Medan Petisah District – Medan City. For information, the location of this coffee shop is in a small alley where only one car can pass from each direction.
When I saw this coffee shop, I was very interested to be able to explore and taste the coffee there. The coffee shop looks very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, when it is very crowded. Finally, I was able to come there to experience the specialty coffee experience for myself at Galih's Coffee & Tea House.
Just looking from the outside, we already know that this coffee shop is very busy at that time. This coffee shop uses a classic Indonesian Javanese building style. Some parts of the building use wood with a very beautiful and aesthetic architecture for us to see.
Galih's Coffee & Tea House has two spaces, namely an indoor room and an outdoor room. The outdoor section is a favorite spot for many people. There are many interesting things that we can see when we sit in this outdoor area, I find it difficult to explain and describe them. However, I'm sure coffee connoisseurs will understand.
The indoor space of the two coffees is not too big, but when we enter the atmosphere is very comfortable. Being in this room, I feel like I'm visiting my grandmother's house and being made a cup of coffee. This room is very simple but unique in my opinion, the floor uses adobe bricks. The front wall uses a large glass that allows us to see into this room.
Galih's Coffee & Tea House also designed this indoor space to be a little more ethnic. We can see it from the selection of wood-based furniture. The design of the table and chairs looks very classic and minimal. Like the dining table furniture in our living room.
A Cup of Arabica Java Prieanger
For food and drink menus, Galih's Coffee & Tea House has a variety of menu choices that are not too many but quite complete. The food choices that we can order include fried rice, fried noodles, signature pasta and various other snack menus. Apart from that, we can also order satay padang or meatballs which are sold by traveling vendors at night.
For drinks, of course coffee and tea are the two mainstay menus of this coffee shop. I saw a collection of coffee beans that can be ordered and brewed at Galih's Coffee & Tea House. I see, this coffee shop has a lot of stock of Arabica coffee from various areas outside the island of Sumatra. I found Arabica Garut, Arabica Ciweduy, Arabica Flores, Arabica Temanggung and Java Prieanger Arabica. I saw and smelled the aroma of these coffee beans, and decided to order a cup of hot coffee from Arabica Java Prieanger.
For the brewing method, I asked for it to be brewed using the "Tubruk Brew Method", one of the original Indonesian coffee brewing methods. My coffee was served not too long, only about 10 minutes from the time I ordered it.
As information, brewed coffee is made with a very simple brewing method. The Arabica coffee beans used will be ground first with a medium to course grind size. After that, the coffee grounds will be brewed with hot water with a temperature of 92 C. Then, we will see the coffee grounds rise to the top of the cup, and to get the maximum taste, rest the coffee for 4 minutes and then drink it.
Arabica Java Preanger has a very fragrant aroma. I love the smell of this coffee, and it seems very authentic and I have never tasted it. I patiently waited up to 4 minutes, and when I started sipping this coffee. Amazing, the coffee taste is perfect for me.
Arabica Java Preanger has a strong coffee body character with low acidity. In addition, the character of the fruity and sweet taste is very pronounced. I also like the after taste of this coffee, it feels very light and makes me enjoy. I enjoyed this cup of coffee while doing some work, and it was a very happy moment for me. That's all for my story this time, see you next time and the next The Coffee Shop Prompt.
