No matter what time of day it is, it’s always a good time to enjoy coffee with friends. Whether you’re meeting up in the morning, afternoon, or evening to enjoy some quality conversation and relaxation over coffee, there are plenty of ways to make the experience enjoyable for everyone involved! Here are five easy ways to enjoy coffee with friends.
1. Buying, making, and drinking
There are many ways to drink coffee alone: you can buy a cup from a shop, make it at home, or use an at-home pod machine. But if you’re craving conversation and connection over your daily cup of joe, get out of your kitchen or office and into your local coffee shop for some good old-fashioned quality time with friends.
2. Going out as a group
Let’s face it: We live in a digital world. If you’re an introvert, meeting up with friends is a great way to get out of your house, socialize and enjoy each other’s company. However, if you go alone or with just one friend, chances are you won’t have enough social fuel in you to meet new people. So go out as a group! Having friends there will boost your energy and make chatting easier.
3. Fostering conviviality at home
The ritual of sharing coffee at home can help you avoid feeling anxious or isolated. There’s something special about getting together with loved ones, friends and colleagues to talk over a cup of freshly brewed coffee. In fact, studies show that daily rituals like these are associated with lower anxiety levels and greater happiness and wellbeing! So foster conviviality among your closest friends—put on some soothing music, brew up a pot of aromatic gourmet coffee and have a group hug.
4. Gifting
If you don’t have time for a cup of coffee, but want to enjoy one with friends, why not gift them one? A gift card from their favorite coffee shop is perfect for any occasion. This way you get to feel like you enjoyed a cup together. Bonus points if you give them an experience as well. If your friend loves yoga, get her a trial class and some new clothes that are just right for downward dog.
5. Attending conferences
Attending conferences is one of my favorite things about being a software developer. Not only are you surrounded by like-minded people, but you’re also continually learning, networking and sharing ideas. Conferences can be intimidating at first, especially if you don’t know anyone there. However, they are an excellent way to learn more about your craft—and meet new friends who will help you grow as a professional in your field.
