I received this huge box of surprise from my boyfriend when he visited Manila, Philippines for some work trip. It's a box of pure goodness- croissants, donuts, and a whole different pastries. Ben really knows that I'm a sweet tooth. This restaurant is quite famous in Manila and apparently, they will open a branch in our City soon.
I like to pair my pastries with some brewed coffee for breakfast. Since we're out on a date, I suggested we look for a quiet cafe nearby and order some beverages to pair with our pastries. Ben doesn't drink caffeine so he ordered a fruit juice while I ordered black coffee. Initially, I mistakenly ordered an espresso without realizing that an espresso is too little. When my order came, I requested for a mug of hot water so I could transfer my espresso. Has anyone tried that hack yet?
I took a bite to some several pastries leaving them partially eaten. I'm sure my family wouldn't mind at all. Truly, the pastries were tasty. I now understand what hype this is all about. The Nutella donuts weren't too sweet and I love the alcapon croissants!
We stayed in the café the whole afternoon just chatting about anything and everything under the sun, watching people come by and leave. We were too full to have dinner after that.
How I wish life will be like this everyday. Visiting coffee shops is always my thing. It gives me a sense of calm and productivity. Brewed coffee, in different cafes, doesn't taste the same too. My sister said she can't distinguish the difference, but I do. And I can tell by its taste the quality of the beans they use.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend, my dear Hivers.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
