I woke up this morning and was excited about the new day which is also the last day in the month of July. I decided to make the most of it and start my day with a good breakfast and a cup of coffee.
I boiled a cup of water to get my Nescafe Gold blend ready to drink. I enjoyed the aromatic smell and the smooth taste of my morning coffee. It was a great start to my day and I felt energized and motivated to make the most of it.
On my to-do list, I had plans to finish up my job at Kontrinews.com. I work remotely as an editor. As I searched different news sites for news, I didn't rush my coffee.
When I found the right news, I worked on editing it and ensuring it was up to my standards. Then, I published the piece on the kontrinews site.
Satisfied with my work, I took a break and enjoyed the rest of my coffee. Though I was only halfway through the job, I had already decided to finish it later that day.
I turned on some music and took my mobile phone to see what was going on in the neoxian city server on discord.
I was determined to finish my job before the day was over.
Sadly, I haven't finished the job yet due to an unfortunate coffee spill.
Due to the website interface, working on mobile is very difficult. I need to use a laptop or desktop to continue with the job. Currently, I have none available and have to wait until my PC air dries completely.
After buying my laptop, I have always been very cautious about making a silly mistake.
I don't recall exactly how it happened, but it happened so fast. Where I sat, my PC was in front of me, and my coffee was beside me.
Also in front of my PC, I moved without thinking and hit my coffee cup. The coffee spilled on some parts of the keyboard and mouse. The coffee was hot, and I knew it. I quickly grabbed a towel and tried to clean the liquid as much as I could.
As I was cleaning the liquid, I pressed the power button quickly so that it would shut down, and then I turned it upside down in a V shape to dry it.
When I turned the back to see if I could remove the battery, I realized that it would be a bit difficult as it required a screw driver in order for me to unscrew the bolt.
Initially, I was hesitant to open up a PC that I just bought, but after watching several YouTube videos, I felt more confident about doing so.
Although I couldn't remove the battery after opening it, I just felt leaving it open would allow it to dry better than when it is covered.
I plan to leave the PC to air dry for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, I will reassemble the laptop and test it to see if it works. If it does, I will be relieved that I was able to save my laptop. Otherwise, I will be sad and have to come up with a solution.
I'm most concerned about the keyboard and mouse since coffee spilled directly on them. I'm crossing my fingers that the laptop will work as I don't have the money to buy a new one. I will also be careful not to spill anything on the laptop in the future.
Will I be able to save my PC after this unfortunate coffee spill?
I will find out probably tomorrow when I try to power it on. :(
