Hello Hiveans and to all the coffee-lovers! ☕️☕️☕️
A beautiful Monday morning to all of you. The sun was out and I wanted to take advantage of the good weather to take a little trip to the town center (we are actually a city but I'm used to living in the big city (Quezon City) where the city center is way bigger than what we have now in the rural city where I now live). Anyways, it's been a while since I've had a break and going out might be a good way to clear up the head and have a fresh perspective on things when I go back to the workstation at home.
It was hot and humid today and having my coffee fill might be best achieved inside a mall where the air-condition is turned on. I also like having my coffee in an al fresco dining area but the heat will surely burn me if I take that route today.
Thinking about where and what kind of coffee to have became easier when I approached the entrance as this giant poster gave me a not so surprising suggestion. LOL.
I had seen J.Co already when it opened up a few months ago but it was always full of customers so I resisted going in. I want to drink my coffee inside the store after it had just been brewed so I'm hoping that there's space for me to sit down and enjoy my cup of coffee at it's best, right after getting it from the barista.
Luck is on my side today.
I'm in luck. The store had just opened and there aren't any customers seated inside so I will have my daily fill of Americano for the day seated inside the store. I'm not too keen on having a doughnut but the staff said that there's one free for every cup of coffee so who am I to refuse such a generous offer. 😁
The small sized Americano is 100 pesos (US$1.75). This comes with a free Glazzy flavored doughnut, which I've not had in a while.
Freshly brewed and fresh from the oven.
I could already smell the coffee from a few meters away. It smelled good, and fresh, and fantastic. The doughnut also looked nice and fresh. I would have ordered another but I just had breakfast at home so my stomach was still full.
The doughnut was good; the coffee was wild.
The Americano that I ordered was great. It had that full-bodied taste and strong aroma that smelled coffee even from afar. It was very nice. I even thought that this coffee was better than the one I usually have on break-time from the other coffee place, which I can see across the hallway.
Why do I feel like I'm doing something bad ordering coffee from another place? I almost feel like I'm "betraying" a friend. Hmmm..... The feeling eventually went away after drinking great coffee. I think I will have to do this again just to make sure that it was not a fluke.
The doughnut was also good. It was not as sweet as I expected it to be and just the right companion to my coffee.
Checking out the place.
This is a great place to chat and have a convo with friends and family. The ambiance is nice and comfy, but also spacious. There's a place where they sell non-food products, which doesn't draw too much attention. The items for sale also looked like they were of good quality and workmanship. The price wasn't that bad, either.
To give you a better idea, here are a few photos that I snapped up.
| 1.Get a free drink if you buy a tumbler. | 2. It would be nice if I had this at home. 😆 |

| 3.Affordable and nice looking mugs | 4. I think I found the perfect Christmas gift for friends. LOL. |
To Conclude
Customers have started to trickle in as I prepared to leave. This was a wonderful #coffee time for me. I feel refreshed and awake now that I've had some good coffee. I'm glad that I checked out this store instead of the usual one that I always go to just across the hallway. This is a nice place to go to if you are ever in the area.
This J.Co Donuts & Coffee store is located at SM San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Sunday.
That's it for now. Thanks for dropping by. Finding good coffee places are a nice diversion to just staying at your desk and staring at the monitor for the whole day. I'm sure that this won't be the last time that I visit this store. Keep safe everyone!
Love and peace.
