Good day, coffee lovers!
Nothing beats sipping coffee with friends who share the same enthusiasm for coffee as I do.
Whenever we get together in the city, there are only two things on our minds: to eat or go coffee-shop hopping, but sometimes both. It is our bonding moment and a time to share the happenings in our lives over the past weeks or months we haven't seen each other.
After a few months of not seeing each other, we decided to go coffee hopping somewhere in Soong, Lapu-Lapu City. We first went to another coffee shop, but I forgot its name. When we arrived, it was packed with Koreans, so we stayed there for our first cup of coffee.
The sun was still high up, so we decided to visit another coffee shop, Nimo Brew. It wasn't my first time there, but it was for some of my friends. The place was quite far from the main road; we had to walk for a few meters before reaching it.
But once you get there, it's like you've been transported to another place. Upon entering the gate, a mini forest greets you on both sides, with a wide pathway in the middle. You can't easily tell that it's a coffee shop with all those plants.

We first had a tour of their mini forest, where you can see their collection of succulents in their greenhouse. They also have a fish pond full of large Koi fish.

People can enjoy their coffees under the trees in the mini forest, as there are coffee tables and chairs placed there. This setting is unique, as not many coffee shops can offer this kind of atmosphere. Oh, and these succulents and some plants are for sale.

During my first visit there, I ordered a Mocha Latte and their Basque burnt Cheesecake, and Wilfred ordered a Caramel Latte with Kouign Amann. Wilfred even challenged me to say 'Kouign Amann' to the cashier, haha. It was my first time ordering this French cake. Haha, I pronounced it as 'koyen ah-man,' but the cashier smiled and pronounced it as 'queen ah-mon.' Lol, it was embarrassing.
Upon tasting their coffee, I can say that it was worth the price. I could taste the coffee, unlike in other coffee shops where the same coffee I ordered would only give you a small hint of coffee, and the rest is milk.
I tasted their cheesecake, and it was delicious! The richness and creaminess, along with the contrast of textures and flavors, explode in your mouth. I also tried Wilfred's Kouign Amann; its texture is kind of like a croissant with layers of butter and sugar, but Kouign Amann is a bit denser in texture and has a caramelized sugary crust.
They also serve pizza fresh from their brick oven.
I am really enjoying the vibe in their coffee shop. It provides a quick break from the dustiness of the city. I would love to go back there soon to taste the rest of their menu.
Having coffee while 'chismising' is one of our favorite bonding moments with my friends, aside from eating and going to the beach. How about you? What is your way of bonding with your friends?
