Today is Sunday. We have spent the weekend and the week prior, packing up most of our household belongings in preparation for our upcoming home renovation. It starts tomorrow in fact. They will be demo-ing the areas of construction in the morning! Among the items that we are packing and which I'll have to live without for a few months, is our espresso machine. As such, this will be my last coffee from it before we move in with my in laws, probably until close to the begining of July, if not longer.
I don't have a whole lot to say other than I'm savoring this coffee in the moment and enjoying it to its fullest. It may be the last good cup that I have for quite some time. Who knows?
I'm being mindful and enjoying the process of making it - grinding the beans, grooming and tamping the grounds, watching the pressure of the machine and the timing of the water being added. I'm mindful of the aroma of the brew and taste and mouthfeel. I'm glad to say that my last cup of coffee in our home turned out pretty nice. I don't have much more to say but I'll leave you with a few other photos of coffees that I've had over the past few weeks that I never got around to making a post about.
Coffee in an artisinal earthenware mug that I received as a gift from a co-worker on my last day before transferring to a new position in another part of the hospital. It was a generous gift and im reminded of the people I worked with every time I use it.
Notice how creamy the crema turned out that day. Delicious 😋
Coffee in a standard white mug. The crema was a little more bubbly that day.
Same cup of coffee above and below. I added cream that day for a little touch of decadence. I do that sometimes when I want a little added treat to start my day.
