Electricity has been one of the most important factors in the economy, nowadays almost everything deals with electricity, it is quite good and comfortable, easier and faster but let’s imagine in the future electricity becomes illegal, how will I cope? How will I prepare my coffee?
Using other manual methods might not be as easy as the electric method, but of course, will still achieve the same desirable taste. or even nicer, who knows
Electricity is not something I depend on, or anyone should depend on, especially in this part of my country where electricity is never constant. I am quite used to doing things manually, to me, there are a lot of substitutes for electricity.
There are a lot of methods to grind my coffee beans, normally I use a grater as a substitute for a blender but the grater doesn’t really blend well. some option I would go with is mortal and pestle or grinding stone.
I would have loved to go with mortal and pestle but honestly, I am not a ‘mortal and pestle’ type, I find it quite stressful to be pounding. A grinding stone is a perfect option for me, it smoothens things quite easily.
Without electricity, I can easily grind my coffee beans using a grinding stone, after grinding to my desired texture, I will pack into a container. Although I can’t pack them all, some will surely be wasted which is a pity, after carefully storing them in a container, I can comfortably prepare them just like I would prepare my smoothen coffee or Nescafé.
It is quite easy for me to prepare coffee without electricity, we have Nescafé; coffee beans that have been smoothen, this would reduce the stress of blending the coffee beans. The use of cooking gas is quite normal to me, I place water in it and just do the magic.
It is really easy, I just boil the desired amount of water, I let it boil then in a cup I pour in my coffee alongside my milk and sugar, sometimes I don’t even pour any milk or sugar especially when I need to stay up at night.
It is not so comfortable to do things manually especially blending the coffee beans, it would take quite a lot of time to blend well and it is more stressful than using a blender. But preparing without electricity is quite comfortable and normal to me.
Sometimes, I add cocoa powder to my coffee, haha. Electricity or not, I will gladly sit and smile while I enjoy my coffee.
