It seems like animal cafes are a thing in Bangkok. Where I am from, we have a few cat cafes and it offers unique ways to enjoy coffee. However, this rabbit cafe that I went to today was underwhelming. Considering that this is not my first time going to an animal cafe, I have to say that it was quite a strange experience. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all. I hope that they don’t treat the rabbit as shitty as they treated the customers.
The whole concept of the cafe though, was intriguing. They have a few rabbits that you can play with, caress, and feed.They also sell all-things rabbit from the food, to cute bunnies that you can adopt. The cute bunnies were definitely the ones that attracted me to the cafe.
When I saw that the rabbit was let free, I ended up going and the staff said that we can have drinks and play with the rabbits. There were a few soft furred rabbits with cute names too. When it comes to the coffee, I was actually surprised that it tasted cafe made. However, price wise, it was fairly expensive for a coffee. It could be that they use the coffee profit to feed and take care of the rabbits but they certainly need to find a way to change their staff.
As I was playing with the rabbit, one of the rabbits just pooped and peed all over the place. I am sure that having a meal here would be a disaster because the rabbit could potentially peed on it or even taste it which could also endanger the rabbit. That is why, the coffee was served in a takeaway cup which was safer for us and the rabbit. However, some of the rabbits were really chill to play with and didn't really mind being caressed. There are also a few rules at the place where you can’t really jump or run around. No feeding the rabbit with random food and also asking staff for assistance for handling the rabbit. The rules are pretty fair
Sometimes when going to a cafe, the staff plays a huge role in a cafe experience. An interesting concept cafe but with a bad staff could really throw people off. I think it’s sort of an unspoken rule that if you run a Food and Beverage business you need to hire the right fit for that which means, they are “people” friendly and don't mind dealing with people. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really the case with that cafe. Seems like they just don’t want a customer which is sad considering that the place was awesome and attracted people’s attention with the bunny on the front of the cafe.
