Today is Sunday, and it's a very cold morning here in my city. Before getting out of bed, my husband and I talked about what to have for breakfast. And then since it's Sunday, no school, no work, we've decided to have a coffee and bread (pandesal) for our breakfast. There is no need to hurry preparing food since coffee is easily to prepare. This isn't our usual breakfast, but I feel incomplete every day if I can't have a sip of coffee. I really love it!
Pandesal is a kind of bread that is a bit crunchy outside and soft in the inside. It is best paired with hot coffee or chocolate drink. Its name comes from the Spanish words "pan"(bread) and "sal"(salt), though it is more sweet than salty.
The unique way to enjoy this bread is by dipping it in your coffee for about 2-3 seconds before eating it. I promise you'll love it! Give it try it now.
Of course, I have my little buddy with me here. He also loves to eat pandesal, but without coffee- he pairs it with milk instead.
Why do I love coffee? Of course, who doesn't love coffee? Well, seriously, I love coffee so much it's because it helps me to start my day full of energy. When I'm having a coffee, I consider it as my "me time"- a moment to think about my plans, relax, reminisce about everything. It is also a special bond between my husband and I before he goes to work. We enjoy having coffee together and discussing different topics, including the silly ones.
How about you? Why do you like coffee? Feel free to leave a comment below- I'd love to hear your thoughts.
