Well, it’s Saturday again (no need to check the calendar, ) so it’s my favorite time to make a post in this community while enjoying some pretty nice coffee. I decided to make another comparison, same as two weeks ago, but this time the coffee is different. I will use the Love Blend this time.
In my last order I chose to pick both a V60 ground coffee(M2-8) and an espresso ground one(M2-2). This is the Dabov Specialty Coffee’s exclusive blend for the St. Valentine’s Day. Just until now I have enjoyed only the espresso packet, but today I opened the V60 grind too, so it’s time for a “battle”.
The coffee is ready now, so it’s time to boil the water and warm up the espresso machine. I’ll first brew the V60 because it needs more time (about 2-3 minutes) and it stays warm longer, being a bigger quantity.
Well, the first one is ready and now it’s time to brew the espresso shot, which takes approximately 20 seconds. If you are in a hurry you’ll definitely have to go with the espresso coffee.
Now both the coffees are ready and it’s time to try and enjoy the final result. The right decision now is to start with the lighter one. And this is the V60 of course! If I decided to go with the espresso first, the filter coffee would feel very watery and flavorless.
I know the profile of this blend, because I’m enjoying the Espresso one for about two weeks already. The beautiful flower aromas are here again and tropical fruits round off the overall flavor. Very light and drinkable cup of coffee. I am now wondering if there’s gonna be such a big difference in the final result, like the last comparison with the more classical tasting brown label coffee.
Espresso brings all the V60 flavors in it but in a more intensive manner. Here, alongside with flowers and fruits you’ll definitely enjoy the chocolate flavor too. I think that it’s due the intensity of the flavors. The chocolate as we all know is very strong flavor and the espresso, being more concentrated is more similarly tasting.
Here, my overall opinion is that I like both the coffees and the difference is when I’m enjoying them more. I thing in a very early morning, I would go with the lighter and easy going coffee - the V60 one, while I would prefer the espresso shot later in the morning, or maybe better in the afternoon.
I’m happy because either V60 or Espresso, this coffee is a pretty nice pick. And as I have just opened the V60 coffee, there are about ten more days of drinking the Love blend.
Have a nice weekend! Stay healthy and safe!
