One more cup of coffee for the road. Who else but Bob Dylan would coin this phrase?
It's 4pm in Korea and I'm hanging around even though all our teachers left. It's a three day weekend and I'm thinking about what it Bob Dylan's song really means.
Then I got the story behind it with a little help from this old video clip. It was Dylan's birthday and he was 34 in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, France. By his own words, he says the song came to him in a dream at the gypsy celebration there.
As he was leaving they asked what do you want. He answered, "just another cup of coffee for the road." The song quite is quite literally a story of his experience with a cup of coffee for the road.

Well, now I'm on my way out of the office for a three day weekend and I've just got to get one more coffee for the road. The cup I've got now is from a chain but I love that they quoted Bob Dylan and I like the color orange.
I can use this cup of coffee and I can use the three day weekend. There are a lot of arguments at work about how to spend the culture budget and also about the changes in next weeks class schedule because of the three day weekend. I think one more cup of coffee will solve most of those problems. On the way home I will stop at the marvel cafe for a little quiet time.
I hope you enjoy your weekend.^^
