The Coffee Corner at the Comodoro Hotel in Havana

Greetings coffee lovers, I wish you a nice weekend, this post is intended to share my experience on a visit to the Hotel VComodoro, I marveled to discover the beauty and elegance that characterize this special place, but I discovered that they have potential for coffee lovers to have a unique and very special experience.

While touring its different areas, I was amazed by the presence of a beautiful inner courtyard that housed a truly impressive sculpture.

In the center of this courtyard was a peculiar coffee cup, adorned with coals inside that perfectly simulated the appearance of a delicious hot coffee.

This original and creative piece immediately captured my attention, awakening my curiosity and fascination for the unique details that adorned the Comodoro Hotel.

We then began to explore the corridors near this charming courtyard, where we saw a series of paintings that, to my surprise, looked like they had been painted with coffee.

We began to look for some writing or someone to give us some explanation about the works, but to no avail, although they were dedicated to the hotel workers.

So although there was no plaque or sign to prove it, the tonality of the works and their similarity to other paintings made using the coffee technique led us to conclude that this was an artistic exhibition dedicated to paying tribute to our favorite beverage: coffee.

Our empirical knowledge of this pictorial technique allowed us to appreciate and value even more the beauty and effort behind each work displayed in that special corner of the hotel.

Right next to this space dedicated to the art of coffee, I discovered a store offering a varied selection of coffee cup sets for purchase.

Unfortunately we were not able to buy any, not only because of the price, which we considered to correspond to the quality of the mugs, but also because they did not accept cash, the purchase of any item in the hotel must be by credit card.

The use of credit cards is being stimulated in the country and I consider that this is favorable, but given the difficulties of the country, with its banking system, connections, etc., it should be taken as one more option and not the only one.

However, the careful selection of pieces and the attention to detail in the presentation of these mug sets should be emphasized.

The patio, the paintings and the store make a perfect set, but they should have designed a small place in that environment to offer coffee, people could enjoy the patio and the works accompanied by a drink that is one of the favorites of the country.

We left this suggestion to the salesperson who always attends us, who told us that it was an old project that had not been carried out.

In general our stay was very pleasant, the hotel staff is very attentive and friendly with visitors, they have the potential to provide better service every day and surprise us pleasantly, as did this little corner dedicated to honoring one of our passions, coffee.
