First of all my good wishes to all coffee lovers, I want to share with you an experience that filled me with satisfaction, enjoy a spectacular coffee that has a characteristic seal that is only known in this coffee shop and very well worth trying, I recommend it, you will not regret it. Let me tell you about Louvre Café:
This weekend my sister and I arranged to meet a Canadian friend who was visiting Havana for a few days, as Dayan, which is the name of our friend, was staying at the Hotel Inglaterra, we decided to have a coffee at Café El Louvre.
Café el Louvre is an emblematic place located in the Hotel Inglaterra, the oldest hotel in Havana, Cuba. Since its inauguration in 1875, it quickly became one of the most popular destinations for tourists and members of high society visiting Havana. Its elegant architecture and privileged location in front of the Central Park made it an icon of the city.
On its first floor near the folder was created the Café el Louvre, a space that sought to provide hotel guests and the local community with a place to meet and socialize. The café was inspired by the European cafés of the time, with a sophisticated and distinctive atmosphere.
Café el Louvre became a meeting point for intellectuals, artists and politicians, who gathered there to discuss ideas, share experiences and enjoy a good coffee. It witnessed transcendental moments in the history of Cuba and the world. The hotel proudly displays a plaque stating that José Martí, Cuba's national hero, gave a speech there.
Inside, Café el Louvre is exquisitely decorated, combining classic and contemporary elements. Its wooden furniture, hanging lamps and well-designed bar give it an elegant and cozy air. In addition, its large windows offer breathtaking views of Central Park and the city's colonial architecture.
The café has witnessed important changes over the years, but its essence has always been preserved. Today, taking advantage of the fact that the hotel is on a corner, its outdoor area is located in its portals and extends along Prado and San Rafael Boulevard.
Café el Louvre continues to be a reference in Havana's gastronomic scene, offering a wide variety of international dishes and Cuban specialties, its menu includes from breakfast options to delicious dinners, always prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients.
Coffee is very famous for its wide variety of coffees and their excellent quality, which is attributed to the use of high quality beans, the most demanded are:
▪️Cuban coffee
▪️Coffeewith milk
▪️Cappuccino
▪️Latte
▪️The Moka
We ordered a cappuccino coffee that was simply special, we asked the barista and he explained to us that the mixture of milk cream and coffee had a special shake for the foam, but that the point was given by the vanilla, he could not give me more details because that was precisely the magic of not only this but all the coffees they offered and it was a house secret, I don't know if it was a joke or a reality, but we all agreed that we had never tasted anything like this before. We were captivated by the friendly and pleasant service of their employees and had a good time, and of course we came to the conclusion that it was well worth paying for the service, because I confess that the prices are high, but nowadays in our country everything is expensive and not always good.
We decided to sit on the side of the Portales facing the boulevard, since we could also appreciate a fairly large area of the Central Park, where there were some tents with different handicrafts, gastronomic and musical offerings, also on that side we could not hear the audio tests of the stage that was being set up for the evening performance of the Popular Orchestra of Candido Fabre.
In addition to its culinary offer, Café el Louvre also stands out for its cultural environment. It regularly organizes artistic events, such as live music presentations and art exhibitions, and the portal usually hosts musical groups offering Cuban music, and inside a pianist livened up the evenings, our friend Dayan told us.
These activities contribute to promote Cuban culture and keep alive the bohemian and cosmopolitan spirit of the place, so on Saturday nights from the café guests and visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of the popular Cándido Fabre and if they are good enough, they can even dance a little dance.
Undoubtedly, the Café el Louvre is much more than just a café in a hotel. It is a symbol of Havana's history and culture, a place where past and present traditions converge. Its charm and beauty continue to attract visitors from all over the world, providing them with a unique and unforgettable experience. I assure you that it is a unique place worth visiting.
